Blog Post #2 | Groups 3, 2 and 1 | Esteban Mayorga
We will be starting off in the order that we started presenting. Thus, we'll start with group 3.
Group 3
Gender Inequality
Group 3 started of their presentation explaining the conflicting opinions and societal situations that gender inequality has caused. Due to this, they begin by explaining the origins of this dilemma. With a great video incorporated by Wyniqua, the upsetting beginning of this gender issue is introduced to start out a great presentation. Thereafter, this group proceeds to state the racial aspect along with some great facts. This would further emphasize the importance of having knowledge of this topic to help people spread the word. Everything that was said was explained perfectly. Michelle and Luis also explained about the horrors that gender inequality has on the education system. Luis elaborated on how women around the world have less education than men. This information gave the audience a new perspective on the education system and how women around the world do not have it as easy as men do. Luis goes on to explain how this situation is resolvable and its completely avoidable. By promoting gender inequality and avoiding stereotypes, there could definitely be a different outcome. Furthermore, Lourdes explains to the audience that not only are there problems in the education system, but in women's daily life. Sexual harassment is a situation that most women face throughout their lives. Lourdes inserted videos that explained how sexual harassment looks like. It demonstrated us how sexual harassment is something that could occur in school, work, and other social places. Due to this problem, there is a significant increase of rape, sexual favors, unwanted physical contact, etc. To further elaborate on the subject, Lourdes explains the types of sexual harassment that occur on a daily basis. She states that there are 3 types: Verbal, Physical, and Visual. Everything was explained in pure and consistent detail which I personally appreciated. Noellie Diaz demonstrated the wanted statistics of sexual harassment. Its upsetting to know that in 2017, the suicide rate for men was 3.5 times higher than women. It was very professional to include multiple details on how there is sexual harassment on men instead of focusing on women. It goes along with their gender equality presentation. All in all, their presentation was well executed and had us all engaged.
Infrastructure
Group 2 had infrastructure, a topic that is rarely viewed and talked about. Personally, I was thrown back by the first slide when it spoke about the Russian war. Due to its recent news it was saddening to know everything that has happened. It was all put together nicely because it correlated it with the inflating gas prices. Lazaro explained how Biden has banned the importation of Russian oil and natural gas. Due to this, the US infrastructure is being struck as the U.S economy is being affected. The gas prices are raising at a high standard, which is a result of this unwanted war. Following this, Jann explains the importance of infrastructure in todays economy. She states that a growing and prospering economy needs good infrastructure due to its high demands in goods and services. Poor infrastructure would often result in huge costs for the U.S economy. Janna later elaborates on how in comparison to other countries, the United States in pretty far behind in the developed world. Everything was explained thoroughly and was well received from the audience. As stated by the presenter, the United States infrastructure isn't as good as other countries. This goes on to give us background information for the next slide. She fully demonstrates to the audience on how Biden plans on saving our infrastructure and saving out economy as a whole. Jennifer Perez continues the topic on infrastructure by adding Japan in the mix. It is interesting to know about the prospering infrastructure in other countries. We could compare their economy with ours. As a result to multiple natural disasters, the economy has had major hits throughout the years. Jennifer continues to explicate the occurrences of tsunamis and the reason why Japan is always a victim of these horrific disasters. Jennifer includes a video horrific yet incredible perspective which showed a tsunami hitting Japan. Gabriel adds South America to compare the infrastructure. I found it interesting the different countries they included in their presentation. It gave the audience a sense of adventure due to the variety of information and places being talked about. Finally, their presentation was very informative and well put together.
Climate Change
Lastly, our climate change presentation was started off by our group leader Brenda, which fully explained what the greenhouse effect is. It was perfectly elaborated and was greatly executed by Brenda. She stated how the suns radiation plus the carbon emissions are ruining the earths atmosphere. It is slowly heating up our earth by staying within out atmosphere. Christian later states that natural hazards are also a result by our heated planet. In addition, he states how hurricanes damage our plants and animals, a main source of our energy. It is saddening to see how we as people are hurting the planet we live in. Diany further explains that animals are also victims to climate change. She verbally explicates how polar bears, gorillas, cheetahs, elephants and many more animals are being hurt by the heating planet. Daniela states that not only land animals are being affected, but our marine life as well. Daniela explained how marine animals have it rough due to the many issues that they face by humans. This shows the audience that there are many problems that humans cause due to our carelessness. We aren't affecting just the animals or the plants, but our main source of hydration: water. Anthony explains that the government is doing the most on their power to give us clean water. As the planet slowly degrades, drinkable water is a problem we will all face eventually due to the climate changing and plastic in the water. Anthony tells the audience that the only solution we have to save our water is by volunteering and spreading the word. His slides were utter perfection, because he gave all the information needed to elaborate completely. Giving the audience the outmost information. that we could give. Lastly, Jennifer would give us multiple ways that we could help save our planet. It is emphasized throughout the whole presentation that all we can do is volunteer and do our parts in spreading the word. Even if it is seen as a minority, every person counts. We as people are helping our decaying planet, but sadly also ruining it. We just have to go an extra mile to change what we have done. I believe that our presentation was amazing due to the information that was given.

Great post! I agree your presentation was excellent.
